Weekly Update!

Students will be dismissed at 1:25 on Wednesday, September 21st.

We look forward to seeing you and your child on Thursday, September 22nd for our Parent Open House!! Our time is scheduled from 6:30 to 7:00pm. Please let your child's teacher know if you are unable to attend.

Weekly Purple Folders: On the calendar, please be sure that you log your child's reading minutes each evening and total the minutes on Friday. Also, the key word list should remain in the folder. This helps us to circle words your child needs to work on and star the lists that have been mastered.

Learning Goals for the Week:
1. Read and write short vowel words that include: a, i and o with inflected endings- ing and s
2. Write a complete sentence: capital letter, punctuation and complete thought.
3. Identify the main idea in a story.
4. Use a number grid to understand sums of 5.
5. Write an addition sentence that include sums of 5.

Learning Goals for the week

As we enter our 4th week of school there is so much exciting knowledge to gain!!

Learning Goals for the week- Students will be able to:

1. Read and Write short vowel words that include: a, i and o.

4. Identify characters and settings in a story.


5. Use tally marks correctly.


6. Identify a greater number.


7. Identify the number that comes before and after a number.

Weekly purple folders will begin to come home this week. Please be sure to write the minutes your child reads to you each evening on the correct date. Raz-kids reading and decodable books can be included in minutes read.

Reminders

• Please have your child bring in 2 healthy snacks (or 1 large snack) each day


• Students are able to have a water bottle each day


• PE shoes are a required school supply and they need to remain at school

First Day Facts!

• School begins at 8:30 and ends at 3:30


• Bring a healthy snack for the morning and afternoon


• Bring lunch money for your school account or a cold lunch


• Return: Emergency forms, library card application and website/field trip permission slips


• PLEASE be sure to bring your PE shoes to leave at school
